Back when I started cloth diapering I had no idea what I was in for. Over the years I branched out from my first diapers and started to try all sorts of brands. The one brand that has continued to impress me with their products, customer service and ethics. That one brand is Thirsties! Their covers, prefolds and AIO's have with held the highest standards and has always been my go to diapering system. I recommend Thirsties covers for anyone looking to diaper a newborn. I say that since my experience with Thirsties covers was back in my newborn days of diapering. Since Rai has grown and is a very active toddler, we tend to use covers less. When Thirsties offered to send for review their Duo Wrap and Hemp prefold, I was very excited to test them out. I chose the duo cover size 2 snap in Mud. I love the deep chocolate color of this cover- it is perfect for boys and girls. I chose a snap closure, since Rai is fully able to pull off all diapers that are not snap closure. When I was using the original Thirsties covers a few years back, I had all aplix closure. Of all my aplix closure diaper Thirsties did hold up the best, so If you are on the market for a good aplix closure, you really will be happy with Thirsties.

Lets do a little run down of why this cover has become my favorite and most highly recommended cover.  


~Sized cover with options. I love a good sized cover, but that can get expensive. Thirsties has a perfect option by creating their Duo Sizes. This system gives you a perfect fit along with a few sizing options. You have very little bulk to deal with. 


~The double gussets. A gusset does not make it or break it for me when it comes to covers, but for some reason this gusset is my favorite. I have NEVER had a leak of any kind in a Thirsties cover. 


~100% polyester with urethane coating, FREE of VOC’s, PVC, phthalates, lead, and latex.


~Made in the USA! 

I am always impressed by and happy to support companies that have stuck to their roots and continue to keep jobs and production here in America. When I asked why being an American company was important to Thirsties, this is the response I received:

Wow! I love that response and am 100% in support of Thirsties. I feel so privileged to work with such an outstanding company and am thrilled to have them on Simple City Life. Well, not only did I receive their Duo Wrap, I also was given a hemp prefold to review. Hemp is by far my favorite material when it comes to inserts. Thirsties Hemp Prefold is a 55/45% hemp/cotton blend. The combinations of these tow fabrics make this prefold not only super absorbent, but incredibly soft. Following suite to their covers these prefolds are available in two sizes, the size one and two. The unique loop design of these diapers allow the absorbant diaper to dry quickly after washing.
