Mini Maestro Review and Giveaway!

So I gotta tell ya, pocket diapers are great to have around and I feel a must have for every stash, but if I'm being completely honest they are not my first choice. Then, there is the whole figuring out if you prefer snaps or hook and loop...I am a snaps girl for sure.

Now you may be thinking this is a strange way to start out for the review of a hook and loop pocket diaper but I feel like I need to let you in on a little bit of my preferences so you understand just how much I really have come to love this Mini Maestro diaper I have.
Happy girl in her Mini Maestro
Let's start at the beginning...I was very impressed first of all by the mission and story of this company. Mini Maestro was started by a mom who was having a hard time finding diapers that fit all of her criteria. For Sophie, the creator, it needed to be trim, leak resistant, easy to use and to clean, made 100% in Canada and of course, affordable. By the way, I have found she has met all of those standards!

Their objective is to provide the public with the best possible products, hence convincing families that are still using disposable diapers, that it can be easy to make a difference to the environment while saving money and ensuring the best comfort for our babies...I love every word of that because that was me!

Mini Maestro's are sized diapers. The great thing about a sized diaper  is the trimness. All babies are so different and it is wonderful to have the ability to have a diaper that truly fits, but will also last a long time. They have XSmall, Small, Medium Slim, Medium and Large, so there are a lot of size options.
So soft and comfy!!
Now back to my original statement about my preferences (I know I'm a little scattered, just stick with me!) The first thing I noticed about my diaper that I received was the hook and loop. This is easily the best quality hook and loop (aka aplix) I have ever used. You could tell just by looking at it.  It had me, a snap lover, excited to use it! Even the laundry tabs work! That is one of my biggest pet peeves about hook and loop, it always sticks to everything in the washer even if you use the tabs...not with this diaper though. The second thing was the softness of it. The inside is a super soft micro fleece which not only keeps moisture away from baby's skin very effectively, it is also very easy to keep clean which I always appreciate. Something that has nothing to do with the function, but one of my favorite things about cloth diapers is the colors. These diapers are all two toned and I love, love, love the rich brown paired with the light teal of my "After Eight"! I love the long tabs to fasten, it makes it very easy to get on and gives it a very cool, unique look as well.
The only thing I was a little confused by was the insert. It is a bamboo insert, which I was very excited about. I love having more natural fibers that don't get funky and usually bamboo is not standard with most pockets, so when I find one that is standard, I pay attention. The one that came with my diaper however seemed very short for the size of the diaper. I used it with just that insert and it seemed like it was ok, however since then I have added a very trim hemp doubler and it has worked just fine and makes me feel a little more confident.
She's so excited about her Mini Maestro that her arms are just a blur!

As I said, Sophie has definitely been able to meet all of her criteria with this diaper and it is a must have for your stash. Super cute with adorable color schemes, easy to use and bring to Grandma's, when running errands, for Daddy or the babysitter. Cleans up so easily and high quality materials plus the trimness of a perfectly sized diaper...yep, you should go to MiniMaestro right now and order yours today ;)
