Onya Baby Review and Giveaway

To carry over the theme of babywearing this month from Under the Apple Tree (which has been a bit hidden with the blog merge and redesign) we have another awesome carrier to introduce to you! Onya Baby is a soft structured carrier geared to carry your baby from 15-45 lbs. This carrier is designed so that you can easily wear your baby on your front or back- always facing you of course! Here are a few of the features you get when you purchase a Onya Baby carrier:

• 100% brushed cotton

• Patent-pending integrated chair harness with safety strap

• Tuck-away sleeping hood

• Low-profile shoulder straps
• Contoured low-profile, supportive waist belt
• Sternum strap for adjustable comfort
• Double-entry, side-zippered koala pouch and patch pocket
• Seat darts for child’s comfort
• Leg padding for baby
• Toy loop on each shoulder strap
• D-ring for attaching key clip (not included)
• Safety-tested to 75 pounds
• Machine washable
• Instruction manual

Onya Baby was a new carrier to me. When it arrived, I was eager to take a look at all the features and especially the baby seat option. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the extra padding around the leg. There is wide padded area surrounding the leg openings that is so soft and squishy on your babies legs. After a long walk or shopping trip in other carriers Rai will develop a few deep red marks. Now, mind you he does not seem bothered by them. With the Onya Baby, the red marks are non existent! The shoulder straps have the same cozy padding, keeping mom comfortable as well. The chest clip moves easily to adjust from front to back carry quickly.

Along with the padded leg, a huge plus on the Onya Baby Cruiser is also the pockets! Having a couple places to tuck things when I am out and about is a huge wining point to me. I like to travel light- so if I can store my keys and wallet while running errands without hauling the diaper bag, I am one happy camper. I have been using the Onya strictly the last few weeks while my other carriers are on loan. I have been happy with the over all performance of this carrier. The fit is very comfortable. I am able to go long distances with out any discomfort. The waist band does run a little smaller than other carriers I have used. I am roughly a size 12-14, when I have this carrier on I am left with about 3-4 inches left on the waist band. My husband would not be able to use this with out the additional waist band extender. If you are a larger build, I would suggest adding on the extender.

excuse my "I just woke up and have no make up on look."
Okay, remember that baby seat I mentioned? Crazy right! The Onya Baby has a baby seat built right into the carrier. If you are out and about and need to restrain your little one, you can easily turn your carrier into a little safety seat. With a few adjustments, the shoulder straps clip onto any chair and tucked inside the pocket is a soft safety seat. If Rai was a little younger I would probably get more use out of it than I do being that he is pretty sound sitting on a chair now. This seat would be very handy for younger babies that are learning to sit on their own. I have used it a few time and have found it to be really simple to use and easy to figure out.
