little girl growing up room

We decided to update Elliott's room a little and give it a more big girl feel. Elliott is the kind of kid who does not get into toys and clutter makes her frustrated. She started crying to me the other day about feeling guilty over all the things she has gotten as gifts, yet doesn't need or want them. I told her that we can take as much stuff out of her room as she would like. When asked what she truly wanted in her room she replied, "my book, animals and Felicity." Done. Everything was emptied out. She had one request, that we add her favorite color, purple.

We set out on Sat. to get a few things to spruce up her room. A few embroidery hoops, packs of tissue paper, and spray paint. She picked out threee awesome colors- blue, purple and pink. We sprayed as many old frames from around the house as I could gather and the embroidery hoops. Together we made and hung the tissue paper flowers. I am very happy with the results! I need to place art in her frames, which should be tonight if Scott remembers to print them off!

She is left with a bed, her bookshelf and eventually her reading nook- I just need a nice bean bag chair!
